Mervin B. Good, 68, of Shillington died July 1, 2011 at 4:15 a.m. in Spruce Manor, where he was a guest for 3 3/4 years. He was the husband of Sonia L. (Lesikoff) Parsons Good. Born in Bowmansville, he was a son of Eleanor (Burkhart) Good of Lititz and the late Isaac G. Good.
Merv was a stonemason and bricklayer last working for George E. Snyder Contractors, Reading. Being a stonemason and bricklayer was not only his occupation but his life’s passion. He was a member of B.A.C. Local 5, Harrisburg, and enjoyed country and oldies music. He collected automobile models and mallard duck replicas. He enjoyed woodworking, constructing toy chests for his grandchildren, a desk for his wife and his granddaughter’s cradle.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by a daughter, Deborah, wife of Michael Cohick, and a son, Rick Good, both of Denver, PA, a stepdaughter, Angela (Parsons), wife of Hank Stenson, Mohnton; and a stepson, Michael, husband of Christina Parsons, Collegeville; one sister, Jeanette, wife of Jim Oberholtzer, Lititz; two brothers, Warren, husband of Debbie Good, Denver, PA; and Isaac Ray Good, McVeytown, PA. There are also two grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, and one great-grand-daughter.
